Dimitri Ashkenazy (b. 1969) studied the clarinet under Giambattista Sisini at the Lucerne Conservatoire. In 1991 he got truly launched on an international career on making his debut at the Wigmore Hall in London with Richard Stamper and his brother Vovka and appearing as soloist with the Bologna Philharmonic Orchestra under Riccardo Chailly and the Gulbenkian Orchestra under Muhai Tang. In between his numerous solo engagements Dimitri Ashkenazy still regularly finds time to perform chamber music with the European Soloists Ensemble and others.
