Helsinki Festival Orchestra

The Helsinki Festival Orchestra aims to act as a forum where the most talented members of the young generation of Finnish musicians, acclaimed both at home and abroad for their skills, can meet in an idealistic spirit to apply the finest traditions of chamber music to playing in an orchestra. United in their aspirations, they have created an atmosphere in which the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, one of their primary goals is not only to give superb performances but also to capture the true joy of music-making and to give and receive mutual inspiration.

The core of the orchestra consists of its founding members: current Artistic Director Olli Mustonen, violinists Jaakko Kuusisto, Pekka Kuusisto and Tuomas Rousi, violist Anna Kreetta Turunen, cellist Tomas Djupsjöbacka, clarinettist Tuulia Ylönen, oboist Sole Terästö and bassoonist Jaakko Luo.
