Florent Jodelet (b. 1962) studied percussion with Michel Cals and thereafter with Jacques Delecluse at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris where he took Premier Prix in 1983. In the following year, Jodelet studied under the direction of Jean-Pierre Drouet. He attended the acoustics course led by Iannis Xenakis at the Paris University and studied electro-acoustic composition with M. Zbar. In 1984 he launched himself on a professional career, playing in the major Paris orchestras. Since 1988 he has been a soloist with the Orchestre National de France.
Florent Jodelet collaborates regularly and intensively with all the French contemporary music institutions: Ensemble Intercontemporain, IRCAM, INA-GRM, Radio-France, Ensemble Itinéraire, Ensemble 2e2M, Ensemble FA, Ensemble Court-Circuit, Ensemble TM+.
He also enjoys a soloist career, having given the first performances of many new compositions and worked closely with composers who have dedicated works to him.
