2018 a year of success for Ondine (29.10.2018)

The calendar year 2018 has been a year of critical success and awards for Ondine.

First, in January 2018, the 19-member ICMA jury awarded the Ondine recording of Sibelius tone poems and songs by Hannu Lintu, the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Anne Sofie von Otter (ODE 1289-5) with an ICMA Award. In total, three different recordings by Ondine were included among the ICMA finalists.

In April 2018, Ondine recording of Elliott Carter's Late Works (ODE 1296-2) was awarded with BBC Music Magazine Premiere Award.

In September 2018, the winners for the Gramophone Classical Music Awards were revealed: The prize in the Concerto category was awarded to the Ondine recording of Bartók Violin Concertos (ODE 1317-2) with Christian Tetzlaff, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Hannu Lintu. Also the disc featuring Elliott Carter's Late Works was among the finalists and the Finnish RSO disc of Sibelius tone poems and songs was shortlisted for the orchestral award.

On October 5th, the Jahrespreis 2018 of the German Critics' Award (Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik) was awarded to Christian Tetzlaff's recording of Bach Sonatas and Partitas on Ondine (ODE 1299-2D).

We are truly grateful for our fine team of artists, musicians and recording engineers and producers who have made this success possible.
