GRAMMY nomination for Ondine's Saariaho recording (21.11.2019)


Ondine recording of works by composer Kaija Saariaho ODE 1309-2 with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Hannu Lintu has received a GRAMMY nomination. The album is nominated under the category of Best Classical Compendium. The recording features Gerald Finley and Xavier de Maistre as soloists. Just one day earlier the same recording also received an ICMA nomination.

 

This is Hannu Lintu's second GRAMMY nomination for Ondine: The recording of Rautavaara's Kaivos (The Mine) was nominated for the Best Opera Recording in 2011.

 

The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra has also previously received a GRAMMY nomination for their Ondine recording of Lindberg's GRAFFITI in 2010.
