Works Discography

Ernest Pingoud (1887-1942)

One of the most colourful characters of the generation immediately following Sibelius, Ernest Pingoud's exotic and highly coloured music shows a marked affinity to Scriabin and Debussy. Like his Russian contemporary, many of Pingoud's works reveal a marked mystical tendency, and restless yearning was his primary musical emotion. Like so many late Romantic composers the world over, his music is only now gaining the attention which it deserves.
