In Memoriam, Lars Vogt (1970-2022) (06.09.2022)

Ondine's long-time artistic partner, pianist and conductor Lars Vogt has passed away. Our thoughts are with his family.

Besides being an exceptional, multi-award-winning artist, Lars Vogt was also a great friend, and, above all, an excellent human being: warm, modest, kind-hearted, and with a great sense of humour. These factors, no doubt, also formed the basis of his excellency as an artist. His positive spirit and optimism has been a source of inspiration for us. Lars left a deep impression on us all and he will be greatly missed.

Lars Vogt's collaboration with Ondine started exactly 10 years ago with the release of Mozart's Sonatas for piano and violin together with Christian Tetzlaff. During the years to follow, 15 more albums were released to great critical and commercial success. For these albums Lars Vogt received a Grammy nomination in 2015, ECHO Award in 2017, Opus Klassik award in 2021, and ICMA Award in 2022, among others, plus numerous nominations.

Lars Vogt left us much too early. But his art and legacy will live forever.

Thank you, Lars.
