One of the final recordings by the legendary conductor Evgeny Svetlanov, recorded at the Berwald Hall, Stockholm in May, 1999.
Svetlanov is widely known as the only conductor to have performed ‘all existing Russian orchestral music’. His recordings cover a representative cross-section of his repertoire, including symphonies and other orchestral works by Rachmaninov, Borodin, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov and Glazunov. This album features some of the most beautiful Adagios of Russian orchestral repertoire.
